Today I surrender :)

Okay so the day started off bad, slept thru the alarm, didn’t get up until my seventh grader needed to be on the bus in 10 minutes … missed the bus.  The kindergarten-er climbed on the bus all by herself without anyone to help her and rode away (me: holding back tears) I got my nail appt time mixed up and came an hour early (I really didn’t mind that part though, I had to run errands anyway).  I missed the kindergarten-er getting off the bus by 2 minutes so she was scared walking down the street all by her lonesome.  I spent who knows how many hours on the phone dealing with people and money (I hate bill paying day) one company we overpaid and they have a 6-8 week policy on refunds (I think I’ll make this my payment policy too) another company said they never received the check (although the bank shows it being cashed two months ago) our water bill went up by $60 per month AND my camera … oh my camera!  I called the company I purchased it from and they said they gave me a contract at the time I purchased the camera (and the “we’ll fix anything that happens to it – 3 year warranty) and that I had to register the warranty within 30 days of purchase … simple problem, I received NO SUCH CONTRACT!   The warranty is up thru Canon (although I can upgrade to a new camera for $1600)

And then, I borrowed a friends camera to take senior pics tonight of one of my favorite gals and found out (a little too late) that it won’t hook up to my off camera flash lights, bummer, so we proceeded without the lights and about 15 shots into the shoot … the battery died and I couldn’t find the replacement :(    AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!  Good thing she is so sweet and we were able to reschedule (I better get my butt together!)  So today … I surrender, the white flag is up and I am going to bed before I hurt, confuse or damage anything else … but before I do :) I’ll share a few of the 15 shots we did get, cuz she is a doll!

Thanks for reading/listening to my rant :) I feel much better, ha ha ha.

New lens, new wireless internet router, knock on wood that’s the last of it!

My favorite (and cheapest) lens kicked the bucket … my trusty 50 mm :( I have loved using that lens and so I had to go out and buy a new one.  I opted for a zoom lens this time and at my photoshoot I noticed myself moving in and out (and then having to re-adjust myself) because I could just stand in the same place and ZOOM!  So good, but bitter sweet.  I shall miss my little friend.  Then this morning I woke up to try and edit images, work on senior announcements and answer emails …. when again …. my internet wasn’t working.  This happens spontaneously for no reason (other than an older internet router) so I broke down and headed out into the world (SCARY!) and bought a new router, so now I am up like the speed of lighting, my new lens is by my side AND the last senior portrait session for the class of 2010 is under my belt.

This beauty is a member of a wonderful family whom I consider dear friends.  We were worried about the weather as all day as it snowed, then blew, then sunshine, then … awe the joys of Utah.  But we lucked out, no snow, but OH THE COLD!  Such a chill, aren’t we supposed to be getting warmer?  Congrats on all your upcoming adventures Miss A, you deserve the very best!

A two post kind of day … Senior Portraits

In order to keep on top of my sessions this week (yes I am still on a session a day kick)… I am going to post my senior portrait session from last night, so lucky or unlucky you …. two posts one day!  This girl is special to me :) she is my hubby’s cousin and she is such a cutie.  I was so excited when she agreed to take her pictures at the actual High School!  Love it!  She’s into track/cross country and is TOP NOTCH at it!  So what better fitting then to take her pictures at the school track… Thanks for the fun night lady, I can’t believe you are so old already but you sure are beautiful!
